U.S. Virgin Islands
Springline Architects announced that they have been awarded Platinum LEED Certification for their new two-storey office space, the first building in the Virgin Islands and the second in the Caribbean to be awarded this prestigious level of certification.
Since principal architect Mike de Haas became the first LEED Certified Registered Architect in the Virgin Islands, Springline decided to use their own office space as a case study for LEED construction in the Caribbean. Following consultation with Sustainable Building Partners in Fairfax, Virginia, Springline found that local building traditions provided other LEED opportunities, and by combining thoughtful design with energy saving methods, Platinum Certification was obtained.
