The GreenTech Group's portfolio of environmentally conscious businesses is making building and living sustainably in the Cayman Islands an increasingly attainable goal.
From designing net-zero energy green homes and buildings, to selling sustainable construction materials and technologies, installing renewable energy systems and providing LEED certification, the
GreenTech Group has each aspect of the building process covered.
Green Energy
From system design and installation through to regular maintenance,
GreenTech Solar makes the transition to solar energy simple.
As exclusive dealers for
SunPower,
GreenTech Solar supplies the most efficient and durable solar panels available: solar panels that are more powerful, continue to perform optimally for far longer than their competitors, and come with the world’s only 25-year full replacement warranty.
GreenTech Solar has years of experience and a proven track record of excellence; every solar system installed to date has outperformed initial production estimates. A low-risk, high yield investment that also benefits the planet – why opt for anything else?
By anticipating the needs of customers – from design and project management to supply of materials and renewable energy systems – the
GreenTech Group is creating a single hub for all the services home owners and real estate developers need to build sustainably. In so doing, they are paving the way to a greener built environment, where people, planet and profit can coexist in greater equilibrium.
GreenTech Solar is a founding member of the
Cayman Renewable Energy Association (CREA) and James Whittaker is the President of
CREA who works with other renewable energy providers and associations from around the region to ensure a more sustainable energy future.
Green Designs
GreenTech’s design architects have over 20 years’ experience designing sustainable single-family residential, commercial and multi-family projects. Having developed the first LEED-certified home outside North America and as the only LEED providers in the Caribbean,
GreenTech’s design division,
NEXT Design and Development, leads the way in green building in the Cayman Islands.
Each design is developed taking into account the specific characteristics of the site, the movement of the sun and prevailing winds, the sustainability of the materials and the practices used on site, to ensure the end result is sustainable at every level.
By applying modern building science, energy modelling and the latest technologies available, energy consumption is dramatically reduced and future energy bills accurately forecast before a single brick is laid. With the right combination of know-how, technology and design, new builds can realistically be developed to generate zero energy bills.
Green Materials
Previously, locating and importing the various components that add up to an environmentally responsible, low energy home required time, patience and many hours of research. The
GreenTech Group’s
Green Building Center in Grand Cayman eliminates that hurdle.
The Caribbean’s first retail showroom for sustainable building materials and technologies, it brings everything from high quality ICF blocks to the best solar panels on the market together under one roof.
The
Green Building Center has identified leading manufacturers – from
SunPower, TESLA and LOGIX to Mitsubishi, GoalZero and many more – and sourced the most effective products from each, to ensure customers receive the best possible return on their investment.
In order to further the company’s goal of bringing increased sustainability to the built environment, the
Green Building Center offers free classes and workshops to educate both the general public and industry professionals on the benefits, options and possibilities for more efficient homes, and can offer financing for renewable energy systems through
GreenTech’s local financing partners.
The first
Green Building Center showroom is located inside A.L. Thompson’s in Grand Cayman. More showrooms are planned around the Caribbean, creating the region’s first and only distribution network for sustainable technologies and materials.
GreenTech Group intends to expand its sustainability-focused services in Cayman and across the region in the areas of solar financing, energy efficiency, electric vehicle services, solar farms, eco-property development and more.
